I was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio; I was a fine arts major at Mt. St. Joseph College in Cincinnati, where I met my husband-to-be, Denny, who was attending Xavier University. We married when we were both 21 (just kids!), and our two sons, Tom and Jay, were born there. We moved to Orlando in 1981, and lived there for 24 years. Our son Tom says it was the perfect place for a boy to grow up: we had a pool, a skateboard half-pipe in the backyard, and there was a lake down the hill to catch fish and snakes.
Besides loving to bead, I am a painter (Folk Art painting), and belong to 3 chapters of the Society of Decorative Painters. I’m also on the board of the Rocky Mountain Bead Society. I’ve taught at the Rocky Mountain Bead Bazaar for the last 3 years. I also taught at the bead shop where I worked in Orlando.
I was drawn to beading about ten years ago by my love of color and textural design.; I just love combining them to see what emerges. I specialize in bead weaving and embroidery.
I enjoy working with my fellow “Crazies”. They’re the best group I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with. It’s hard to call it work when you enjoy being there so much.  -Kate

An easy and chemical free way to clean silver wire is to use aluminum foil, baking soda, salt and hot water.
1.  Line a heat resistant pan or deep baking dish with aluminum foil, shiny side up.
2.  Boil a gallon or so of hot water and add a table spoon each of salt and baking soda.
3.  Pour the mixture into your foil lined pan and put your silver wire in, to soak.
4.  Make sure the silver wire is lying on or touching the aluminum foil for this to work.
5.  Remove the wire from the dish, run under tap water and give a light buff with paper towel.

While I’d like to say it took only seconds and that the wire came out ‘perfectly clean’… truth is, depending on how tarnished your wire is, this might take up to 10 minutes of soaking time and for best results on some deep tarnish, it might take repeating the process after the toughest layers are removed.  Provided you have patience to do this, it works quite well!  See images below….

The ultimate way to clean wire, beaded jewelry, is with a Sunshine Cloth, which can be purchased at The Crazy Merchant, Inc.  They are safe for most metals and stones, easy to use and very inexpensive.

Keep your beautiful jewelry looking gorgeous with these easy tips!

Tools to Start Making Wire Beaded Jewelry

What kind of tools do you need to make wire beaded jewelry?

The great news is, you only need 3 or 4 simple hand tools to get started!  The Crazy Merchant, Inc offers quality, inexpensive jewelry pliers and wire cutters, in addition to a full set of Ergonomic tools which keep your wrist and hand health in mind.
Here are the four tools we recommend to start your jewelry making adventure!
Chain Link Pliers – They have a long tapered jaw, which is flat and smooth on the inside.  There are no ridges to mark your wire and they are wonderful to use for gripping wire, pinching down cut ends, opening/closing jump rings.
Bent Nose Pliers – A must have for any wire and/or bead worker!  The nose is tapered, flat and smooth on the inside and has a slight curve at the tip of the jaw.  Amazing to help you reach and manipulate your wire wrapped ends with ease and precision!
Round Nose Pliers – These are great for making spirals, loops and elegant curves in wire for simple earring wraps, charm loops, pendant loops and more!  The jaw is long, smooth and cone shaped, used for making different size loops and spirals.
Flush Cutters – Used for clipping wire and Soft Flex ends.  One side of the cutter is flat and makes a clean, flush cut, minimizing the need to file wire ends.  Your cutters are in good shape when they are sharp, comfortable to hold in the hand and when the jaws are clean and without ‘pits’ in the blades.
Happy beading!

I am a Colorado native and longtime resident of Littleton, Co. Arts and crafts have been my passion all of my life. I am a professional artist and have displayed my paintings at many national and international venues around the country. I am a juried member of the International Guild of Realism. I am also a professional cake decorator and instructor. Lately, my passions have turned to creating jewelry. I am very happy to be at the Crazy Merchant both because of the great people and creative atmosphere and because of the way they serve the community through many charitable endeavors.

I am blessed to be surrounded by a beautiful supportive family. I am married and have two children and two grandchildren.

Susan headshotHello I’m the Sales Floor Manager – I’m Susan, a Denver native who took a vacation to Florida for three years, but now I’m back home. I have been making wire wrapped and beaded jewelry for a little over a decade and I love it! I used to be a computer nerd, but turned eclectic artist. Now I’m at The Crazy Merchant, Inc. being perfectly twisted.

Quality is an invaluable asset in any material or finished good. A quality product is only as good as its parts. I have been shopping at The Crazy Merchant Inc. for more than a year now and the quality of their merchandise never ceases to amazes me. The other day I went through some of my older collection pieces and found I need to re-do a ton of them because of poor quality materials. I was so ‘bummed’ that the plating was flaking off and tarnishing the chains. The paint is peeling and fading off the beads. I stopped and asked myself “Why is this happening?” The answer is simple: they are plastic painted beads or fake gemstones, the color is bleeding out or they just crumble into nothing because they are not real gemstones or pearls. This is not jewelry that will last and I cannot proudly put my name on the pieces as a designer. Why did I buy these materials you ask?? Simply because I did not know better. It’s like enjoying cube steak until you taste a filet mignon. I share this with you, my friends to save you from heartache, disappointment and waste. So save yourself some time and shop at The Crazy Merchant Inc. where quality is never compromised. The prices are crazy and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Knowledge is power.

Crazy Beading 101:
The ‘secret’ is… making jewelry is ALWAYS pleasurable!
If, during your creative moment, anything causes you frustration,
physical discomfort or the dreaded sense of ‘defeat’… just stop.
Put your beautiful beads down, put your jewelry tools down, breathe…
and reassess.  Ask yourself the simple question, “why is this so hard?”
Then check the obvious…
1.  Are you using the proper jewelry tools?
2.  Are you using the jewelry tools properly?
3.  Are your materials compatible?  For example… if it’s almost impossible to thread your beads through your Soft Flex, then check to see what SIZE you’re using.  Soft Flex line comes in Fine, Medium and Heavy, each line being thicker than the next.  Perhaps you’re using Medium Soft Flex when the hole in your beads is suited for Fine line?
4.  Do you need to learn the basics?  Or just refresh your beading skill set?
At The Crazy Merchant, Inc., we offer three levels of workshops, each designed not only to ‘get you started’ in jewelry making, but also to keep you completely enjoying and advancing in your creative art!
Learn ‘what you need’ to make beautiful jewelry by signing up for one or more of our fun and educational workshops!
Learn ‘how to use’ jewelry tools and capture all the great tips offered by our talented design staff!  We offer a variety of classes every month!
Learn, practice and share beading techniques with others.  Come into the shop and enjoy an afternoon at our complimentary beading tables!
Join us every 3rd Tuesday of the month, for Crazy Craft Night!  Call us to save a seat, bring your projects and enjoy wine and refreshments while you bead and shop during this exclusive and fun evening!  Welcome to 2016!   ” You don’t have to be Crazy to create here, we’ll teach you! ”  See you soon!

The holiday season can be a frantic time, with all the stress of getting the baking done, mailing out the cards and finding all of the perfect gifts. Remember a gift from the heart is so much more than a gift from your pocket book. A handmade gift is special, not only to the receiver but also to the giver. As the giver you get to put in special thought and love into the gift. You get to make it personal. You get to spend time crafting together something special while thinking of why this person is so special to you. As a receiver of a handmade gift you receive a part of the givers heart and are assured how absolutely special you are to them. This is what the holidays are really about, reflecting on why we are so blessed to have the people we have in our life. Make sure to take time to put some love in the gifts you give to the people you love. If you need help, ideas or instruction on making holiday jewelry gifts we love to help at The Crazy Merchant, Inc.

I walk in to an inviting environment with bright sparkly beads lining the walls and finding that go on forever. I already feel better. I sit down, bead and breathe. The wire guard is a simple, yet useful finding. This small finding gives your finishing loops reinforcement and puts less strain on your beading material to help prevent fraying. It also it is very ascetically pleasing, giving your jewelry a rich finished look. These are simple, yet clever little findings. Wire guards are shaped like a horseshoe with openings on either side. To use the wire guard: Simply put all the finishing beads and crimp on. Next slide beading material in bottom opening. Loop up and back down sliding the beading material through the other opening to create a perfect guided loop. Next attach your closure; a clasp or toggle. Next you close up the piece and done. Come in and get your wire guards at The Crazy Merchant Inc. or to learn more about wire guards and closing sign up for a level 1 or 2 class. Do you have tips or tricks to share? Please share, we love sharing!

The bead stopper is a simple but amazing tool. This tools will keep you calm in extreme beading conditions. Whether you are doing one, two or five strands the bead stopper will bring a new ease to your beading experience. How to use the bead stopper: simply squeeze the two loops and open the spring, put in your soft flex or beading material in between the coils of spring, release and check to make sure your beading material is locked in place. It is so nice, now your beads cannot run away from you. This is also great for checking length and to see how your piece will lay. If you don’t already have bead stoppers come by The Crazy Merchant today and pick up a 4 pack, you won’t regret it! Sign up for a level 1 or 2 beading class and learn more on how to use bead stoppers. Let us know what you think about bead stoppers. I love beads and despite the millions I have in my bead room at home, I always want more. Sure, it would be logical to utilize what I have and make jewelry with the beads I already have, but as a beader, I can’t have enough! That’s when the idea for the Crazy Bead Box was born. Wouldn’t it be nice to get an array of beading related items in the mail once a month for a set price? It would save me time, money and satisfy my desire for new items to add to my extensive beading collection.

gemstone strands

For a flat rate you can get a box in the mail once a month, filled with glorious gemstones, findings and new surprises each time thanks to the Crazy Bead Box. Give your feedback to us and we’ll listen and customize your bead box to what you want. As a brand of The Crazy Merchant, Inc., Crazy Bead Box gives back too by giving $1 of every box shipped to Beads of Courage. I dabble in all sorts of jewelry mediums from glass seed bead stringing to hand making beautiful glass beads to metal-smithing. One challenge I’m sure everyone has shared is making your jewelry strong and durable for life. To my delight, Bonnie at The Crazy Merchant, Inc. showed me a simple technique that changed my jewelry making. Simple, yet elegant and strong, learning this wire wrap technique will help you make your jewelry with a link closure that will stand up to the test of time. I have wrapped many stones before and I have always struggled with my closing loop. How can I make my wrap strong and clean with no wire sticking out?? Well, this wire wrap technique is brilliant. I can wrap my stones, leather, beads and more and know that it is a permanent, quality wrap. I also used her technique to make my own wire wrap chain. It takes some practice, so be patient. It is well worth it in end. I love wire wrapping! “I can’t even wrap my head around not knowing this simple, yet so important technique”. Come see Bonnie and take a Level 2 jewelry class at The Crazy Merchant, Inc. to learn some amazing new techniques that will change your jewelry making and raise the quality of you jewelry to new levels!

We have the projects below for our tween beaders, they are the same price and available during all of our regularly scheduled class times:

It’s the thought that counts…The value of homemade gifts.

It’s that time again…holidays are around the corner. Hard to believe, but true. Is it really time to face the malls, the stores, the crowds? YES, but wait, there’s another way. There is nothing more special than receiving a gift for the holidays made especially for YOU! And there is no greater joy than giving the perfect, homemade gift…one that is especially selected and crated for your mom, dad, grandmother, mother-in-law, children, etc. You get the point.

But what to make, how to make it, and when to fine the time? Ah…that’s the hard part. When making a one-of-a-kind, handmade gift, you must start now. Don’t wait till the first blizzard to realize that Christmas Eve is tomorrow, eekks!! Start today. Look through magazines, look through your old craft supplies, and pay attention to color, style, and trends for the holidays.

A great way to make an exceptional and unique gift is to repurpose old items. Go through old boxes of jewelry, craft projects, and kid’s old mementos. Grab a glue stick and get your creativity. You can make a necklace from an old bunch of keys you no longer have locks to; make the perfect key ring from an old bottle cork; or take a shadow box and bejewel it for a new look.

No matter what age, everyone loves to receive a beautiful gift from the heart made especially from you. Some of my favorite gifts, and the ones I will always cherish, were homemade gifts from my children. I will always love them and there isn’t another one just like it on the planet. It doesn’t get much better than that. So grab a glue stick, a bead board, and some creativity and get going…it’s getting cold out and holidays are around the corner.Advanced Earring Class

Jen Niemela – General Manager

Hi, I’m Jen and I have been in Colorado for 23 years and in Littleton for 8 years. I have been making jewelry for over 20 years. I work with beading, recycle-design and metal smithing. My inspirations are from nature, abstract and emotional expression.  My jewelry line is all sliced seashell and natural stones. When I’m not making jewelry you can find me spending time with my adorable Sheepdog, Scruffy, out in nature or somewhere with good music and people. I also love fashion, yoga, traveling and scuba diving.

When it comes to wedding jewelry, we have a few options for you:

1. Make a date to have your bridal party come in to make their jewelry.

2. Make an appointment with one of our designers to create your dream, custom wedding jewelry. We suggest doing this at least 4 months before your big day so we have plenty of time to custom order anything you may want and can have plenty of time for two meetings, one to design and one to create.

3. Custom order your jewelry (and your wedding party’s jewelry too) from one of our fabulous, chic vendors at a fraction of the cost of what they charge at various other bridal jewelry retailers.

Hi there! I’m Darlene, a self-declared beadaholic. I hope to inspire others and guide them to discover their inner creativity and also develop a passion for personal expression through beads, jewelry, and the creative process.  I am proud to be a published jewelry designer and have had my jewelry designs featured in Bead Star, Stringing Magazine, and Bead Trends Magazine. I was honored to have two of my award- winning designs displayed at The Bead Fest in Santa Fe. When I am not working at The Crazy Merchant, Inc., you will find me at The Junior League of Denver, Second Time Shop, an upscale resale boutique in Southeast Denver where I am the Manager. I have a passion for finding, collecting, and repurposing vintage jewelry and findings and discovering new beading trends and techniques. I also love spending time with my family including my Toy Poodle Riley! I hope to have the opportunity get to know you and share creative ideas!

“Creativity is contagious, pass it on”…

Carol Marcus

Hi, I’m Carol and I’m Operations Manager and Event Coordinator at The Crazy Merchant, Inc. I’ve been beading for 14 years and a proud member of “Team Crazy” for 11 of them. I love discovering new techniques to make jewelry and my latest craze is recycling older pieces by refashioning them into new, fabulous necklaces! When I’m not at the store, you can find me painting the town with my wonderful husband, Jeff, of 19 years. We can’t stay away from local art shows, farmer’s markets or any event that involves walking around and shopping! I am a proud mother of two wonderful girls and a fabulous son-in-law, who have blessed me with my two adorable grand-dogs and have turned me into quite the “dog-lover.” I’ve enjoyed the past 11 years and I’m always excited for my next “Crazy” adventure!

Bonnie Mitchell

Hi, I’m Bonnie and I was born and raised in Minnesota, I moved to Colorado 40+ years ago.  I worked in the corporate world for over 30 years.  I have loved beading and working at The Crazy Merchant for the last 10+ years and can’t think of anything I’d rather be doing. I love the people I work with and all of our awesome customers, many who have become good friends. I have been happily married for 32 years.  Beside beading I enjoy reading, cooking, decorating, golf, and getting together with friends.

I’m Bobby and I was born in Los Angeles, California. I moved to Colorado when I was 10 years old and never looked back! I have been a part of The Crazy Merchant, Inc. family for the past 13 years! A few of my loves are McDonald’s iced coffee, Costco pizza, and my husband, Dick, of 56 years. When I am not busy being a fabulous hostess at The Crazy Merchant, Inc. you can find me taking adventures via my favorite way, by cruise ship!

Ann Martin

Hi, I’m Ann and I am originally from Lacrosse, Wisconsin.  I moved to Colorado in 1969. I was a schoolteacher for 32 years before becoming a proud member of The Crazy Merchant, Inc. team for the past 10 years. I love beading, especially bracelets.  My beading style is best described as “classic contemporary.” When I am not working hard at The Crazy Merchant, Inc., you can find me at McCormick’s Happy Hour or reading a favorite new book. I also love to visit my daughter, Rachael (pictured above), in San Diego, California.

Amanda Stringer

Hi, I’m Amanda, a native of Chicago, I moved to Durango, CO in 1996 and obtained a degree in Psychology. While studying in school, I started to create jewelry designed around different personalities of women, and how they express themselves through creativity. My passion became my business in 2010. In August 2012, I was ecstatic to join The Crazy Merchant, Inc. team to expand my knowledge of jewelry design and continue to pursue my passion of jewelry making. My husband and I live in Littleton, CO with our two adorable dogs. I love to camp, hike, and go skiing in my free time.

It is a place for the creative and not-so-creative soul to be intrigued, delighted, and inspired. The moment you notice the large bright turquoise building at the corner of Belleview and Windermere and see the unique sign with the whimsical pink elephant you wonder…What is this “Crazy Merchant, Inc.” anyway???

Those who have dared to be curious, adventurous, and just plain  “crazy” enough to drive into the parking lot and enter the doors of the large, rather warehouse looking, turquoise building with the pink elephant sign are, I am sure, relieved and pleasantly surprised by what a treasured gem they have indeed found!

As you walk in, you are welcomed by a Crazy Merchant, Inc. associate and offered guidance and assistance, not to mention a beverage and snack. Wow! Such hospitality!

As you begin to wander around the large retail showroom you realize this is not an ordinary retail establishment but a truly unique retail experience! You can instantly see that it is a “Mecca” for any bead and jewelry making enthusiast, offering a vast selection of strung and loose gemstones, crystal, glass, metal beads, findings in every finish, a wide selection of tools and supplies, and so much more.  You also see that it is a great place to shop and find beautiful and unique finished jewelry designs including sterling silver and gold jewelry at amazing prices, a unique selection of fashion jewelry and accessories, as well as other unique gift and personal items.

As you continue to explore, you soon realize that shopping is only a small part of the total “Crazy Merchant Experience.” You immediately feel the buzz and aura of positive energy. You see people sitting with other people laughing and having a great time at the large round tables. Some people are designing and creating jewelry while others are shopping and marveling at the vast inventory. You observe people coming in the door and watch the entire staff turn to greet the customers by name…it fondly reminds you of a scene from “Cheers”…where “everybody knows your name, and they’re always glad you came”!

The Staff at TCM is a group of highly creative individuals who are not only passionate and accomplished artists and retail professionals, but, they are also highly skilled jewelry designers. Each staff member is a fabulous resource and each offers a unique design aesthetic and area of expertise. They never hesitate to share their knowledge, skill, and creative talents with TCM customers. Each staff member is a valuable resource for learning new techniques, collaborating on design ideas, catching up on the newest trends, and finding out about general product knowledge. Many of The Crazy Merchant, Inc. staff members are also class instructors, published designers, and create and sell their own jewelry designs.

Oh yes, The Crazy Merchant, Inc. is so much more than just a bead or a gift store. You come to realize it is a very, very, special place where people not only travel to gather and connect with other people, share, learn, create, and shop, but also to be involved with a locally owned business that loves, appreciates, and rewards their customers and also has a true sense of giving back to the community it serves!

If you love beautiful jewelry or have a passion to make jewelry, you will go crazy at The Crazy Merchant, Inc.  My name is Amanda Stringer and I am a local Colorado jewelry artist.  I discovered The Crazy Merchant, Inc. six years ago after moving to Littleton, CO.  I was amazed at all the wonderful treasures I found within this big, bright, turquoise building with a dancing pink elephant logo off Belleview and Santa Fe in Littleton, CO.

The Crazy Merchant, Inc. is a beader’s dream come true.  They have walls covered with an assortment of semi-precious stones including, my favorites, like Agate, Aquamarine, Chrisophrase and Pink Tourmaline.  This wide variety of stones is what originally kept me coming back for more.  As my passion for beading continued, I incorporated chain into my designs.  I love the huge wall of chains.  The Crazy Merchant, Inc. carries several styles of sterling silver chain as well as gold filled chain, which are my personal preference.  Are you on a budget?  No worries, their base metal chain selection is plentiful.  I also love the bead buffet at The Crazy Merchant, Inc.  The bead buffet is a huge table of beads and a variety of findings that you can purchase solo instead of buying a whole strand.  This concept is perfect if you are making several projects and can’t buy several strands.

The Crazy Merchant, Inc. also offers a wide range of specialty gifts and fashion jewelry if you need to grab a gift and go.  The fashion jewelry is very hip and stylish and half the price of similar department store items.  They also carry unique high end jewelry made from sterling silver and 14k and 18k gold.   As I said earlier, The Crazy Merchant, Inc. caters to any budget.

I recently became a part-time employee of The Crazy Merchant, Inc. and love the women I work with.  All of the staff are very knowledgeable with the inventory we carry and extremely helpful with your specific needs.  We also offer a wide range of beading classes to help you expand your passion for jewelry. Come in today and enjoy a wonderful experience with us.  You will go crazy for The Crazy Merchant, Inc.!!

The Crazy Merchant, Inc. is the perfect place for fashionistas, crafters, bargain hunters and anyone with a philanthropic bone in their body. Not only is there a plethora of choices, their vast assortment of items has something for everyone.

Accessories are magical! They can take an outfit from day to night, casual to fancy, or give any outfit that extra “oomph” that it needs to be fabulous. The addition of accessories can also update any wardrobe.  If you have a plain white shirt, whatever style it may be, you can bring in a “pop” of color with your accessories. A few things you will find at The Crazy Merchant, Inc. to achieve this are assorted gemstone bangle bracelets, colorful pearl necklaces, or even one of the fine scarves that sell for only $20 each! The possibilities are endless. In order to dress up your daytime look, throw on some sparkle with some crystal or cubic zirconia earrings and a chunky chain necklace!  You won’t have to break the bank to accessorize either, The Crazy Merchant; Inc. has every price point under the sun. If you want to spend $5 or $50, you are sure to find a fabulous piece.

Beware of other costume jewelry; it may be detrimental to your health, literally! A recent study unveiled that some stores sell costume and fashion jewelry with toxins, like lead and nickel. The Crazy Merchant, Inc.is proud to sell only safe fashion and costume jewelry.  Our fashion jewelry isn’t the only inexpensive way to accessorize. Do you have an older, outdated piece of jewelry? Bring it in! The design experts can help you refashion any piece of jewelry. It’s a great, inexpensive way to reinvent your accessories. Also, many people have the preconceived notion that it is mandatory to be “creative” or “artsy” to make your own jewelry, which couldn’t be more false.  Go through your magazines, collect pictures of jewelry you like and one of our trained staff will help you create the perfect, custom piece for you.  \ Whether you decide to choose from the enormous variety of fashion and costume jewelry or to make your own, you are sure to find the perfect accessories to complete your wardrobe.

A stylist would find The Crazy Merchant, Inc. as a very helpful, one-stop-shop for their client’s accessories.  There is a private conference room where the client can have an exclusive look at the stylist’s picks and not be bombarded with the extensive choices that are available in the store. They can also bring their new outfits and try on various “looks” with the potential accessories. Another perk for stylists, besides the 10% off their clients receive, is they can find a brand new accessories wardrobe for a very modest price. The Crazy Merchant, Inc. merchant can accommodate any budget and any style!

1.    Go through your old jewelry. Put aside broken pieces and earrings that are missing their matches into a baggie and make a pile of any outdated or never worn pieces.  Note what jewelry you’re wearing more often and put those aside. Keep the broken pieces and one-earrings, you may be able to incorporate these into your personally-made jewelry.  Also, you may be able to use the outdated or never worn jewelry’s components to make your next, or first, piece of jewelry.
2.    Determine the piece(s) of jewelry you need. Do you have a necklace to wear with that little black dress? Do you need a statement piece? Are you lacking simple, delicate jewelry? Do you want a sentimental piece, maybe with your birthstone?
3.    Get ideas. Go through various magazines, websites, and catalogs and find what kind of jewelry you want to make. If you’re not feeling very creative, find a piece you want to copy. At most bead stores, they should offer some sort of free pointers and tips. If possible, go to a store that will let you work on your piece there. It will be a lot easier to copy a piece that way.(The Crazy Merchant, Inc. offers free beading tables and free tips from our expert designers.)
4.    Find a store. Use Google as your guide. Type in your location and the phrase “bead stores”, in quotations. This is the easiest way to find the stores near you. Then research each store.  You want to find a place with a wide variety, free work tables, trained staff (not just employees, a good rule of thumb for this is check to see if they make their own in-house jewelry), sells beads by the strand and per bead, carries alternative metals to sterling silver such as pewter (great way to get the look of silver without breaking the bank) or other base-metals, a place that sells the tools that you need at a good price (if they don’t, you can buy your own at a large craft chain such as Hobby Lobby or Michael’s) and (if possible) a place that will allow you to bring in your own beads (so you can bring your broken and outdated/never warn jewelry too, which is another great way to save).
5.    YouTube it and make a list! If you live somewhere that doesn’t have a wide selection of bead shops or don’t have a nearby place to take classes, like The Crazy Merchant, Inc., watch a YouTube video about how to make a certain piece of jewelry. If you want to make a simple necklace, watch a video about how to crimp and close a necklace. Do this BEFORE so you know all the tools and findings you will need for your project. Nothing is more frustrating then getting home and finding out you’re missing one piece. A shopping list before you go is highly recommended! If you’re a beginner beader and just want all the basics, here’s what we suggest you put base your shopping list off of:
Bead Board
Flat Nose
Round Nose
Wire cutters
Stainless steel wire (we prefer Softflex®)
Crimps (we recommend sterling silver)
Finishing balls (we recommend 4mm silver plate)
Jump rings (we recommend Snappeez®)
